Every great club runs on the dedication of those who give their time, energy, and heart without expecting recognition.
Earlier this season, we asked you to nominate the unsung heroes who make our club what it is – the people who arrive early, stay late, and always answer the call when help is needed. These are the volunteers who ensure our kids have hot food at the canteen, our grounds are game-ready, and our community thrives week after week.
The response was overwhelming, and it reminded us just how many incredible people contribute behind the scenes to make this club special. While we can't recognise everyone in a single post, we're thrilled to share some of the amazing nominees who embody what it means to be a true club champion.
These are the people who don't seek the spotlight but deserve it most. Let's celebrate them!
Gregg Everest
A true Greyhound through and through, Gregg played his junior footy right here at Glebe and continues to give back in every way possible.
From coaching to the canteen to helping out on the ground, Gregg is always stepping up with a can-do attitude and a big smile. Loved by players, parents, and everyone in between, he leads by example and lifts the spirit of our club every week.
Whether he’s solving a problem or just making your day better, Gregg embodies what it means to be a Greyhound.
We’re lucky to have him on our team!

Martina Cejkova
Martina steps up whenever needed, supporting the canteen and team, always with a can-do attitude. She leads by example, volunteers across roles, and helps game days and training run smoothly, embodying true community spirit at our Junior AFL club.
Thank you Martina, we’re so grateful to have you at the Greyhounds!
Dalia Pataki
Dalia is always there for our club, helping with the BBQ, canteen, or ground setup, even when not rostered.
She leads by example, steps up without being asked, and brings a can-do attitude to every role. Dalia’s generosity and tireless support make game days and training run smoothly for everyone.
Thank you Dalia

Chris Barrett
For years now, Chris has been volunteering as Ground Manager. Chris brings calm, reliability and a huge dose of team spirit.
He’s the first to put his hand up, makes sure game day runs like clockwork and even trains others to share his know-how. When no one else is around, Chris happily covers extra games.
We appreciate everything you do Chris!
Matt Webster
Matt is an amazing coach who understands kids with varying skills. He’s a positive role model, teaches both kids and parents, and always ensures everyone feels included.
Matt provides individual feedback and makes a real difference. He is truly an outstanding junior AFL coach.

Anna Kraegen
Anna is the ultimate quiet achiever at Glebe JAFC-always stepping up, supporting BBQs, filling in wherever needed, managing the Ul2s, and leading with a can-do attitude. She helps game days run smoothly and inspires club spirit through her dedication and teamwork.
